Church Announcement - Letter from Pastor Marshall

Dear Harvest family,

This past Sunday evening, we held a vote to approve the hire of Eirik Shevy as an Associate Pastor at Harvest. Over the past few weeks, we presented our goals and hopes for the future ministry of Harvest. Thank you to everyone who prayed, encouraged, and helped us work through these details. Your thoughtful questions, kindness, and unity over this matter has been an encouragement and help.

The result of the vote on Sunday evening was a resounding, unanimous “yes!” I spoke with Eirik shortly after the vote, and he has agreed to accept the position. We rejoice together and thank the Lord for a clear and unified direction forward. Since their move to Rock Hill many years ago, Eirik and his family have allowed the Lord to use them in whatever way possible. I have been so grateful to serve alongside them and look forward to this next phase of ministry with the church.

We have not established an official start date for his position. As these details become available, we will keep everyone informed about the next steps. Please pray for Eirik, Brigette, and the family as they make this family transition.

New Sermon Series: "The Proving Ground of Faith" (1 Peter)

I Peter 400x400.jpg

On February 21st, Pastor Marshall will begin a new sermon series on Sunday mornings exploring the book of 1 Peter. The series will be called, “The Proving Ground of Faith” and will last about 17 weeks. From this short and poignant letter written by the Apostle Peter to the scattered believers in the early church, we will discover how the Lord encourages those who follow him to strive in the midst of intense persecution, distress, and difficulty so that our precious faith may be found “to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:7).

New Sermon Series: Joshua: Victory is from the Lord

New Sermon Series Beginning 9/20/20

This week we will begin a new study through the book of Joshua on Sunday mornings entitled “Joshua: Victory is from the Lord.” As we observe the successes and failures of the Children of Israel in their quest to claim the land God had given to them, God’s Word teaches us how we too can achieve Victory in the Lord. Join us!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9, NKJV

Preparing for the Auditorium Lighting Project!

We are very excited that God has blessed our church with the ability to fix our auditorium lighting situation! We will be moving from a halogen bulb system to LED fixtures. The funds for this project were approved during our budget meeting at the end of 2019. As the lockdowns occurred in March, our leadership agreed that this was the perfect time to move forward with purchasing and installing the lights. The lights arrived last week, and work will begin Monday. Take a look at some photos from the work done this afternoon to clear the seating out of the auditorium so work can begin Monday!
